11:26 Officer Report: Fundraising – Alexandra

• (Doesn’t have anything to do with fundraising but) Craig brought up the idea of promoting the summer starters
• After speaking with Dean Wells:
• 50/50 Raffle (going to Walmart to attempt to get a donation for the Raffle, then we will table and sell tickets $5 per ticket for the prize)
• Traditionally, BLSA has sold ONU clothing, and our goal is to get that together for homecoming, in hopes of making some money off of that
• Places jars out “donate money for the diversity forum” – get people to donate money ... point is to get the information out there

Alex – don’t worry about financial hardships, we can work with you all, you should let dues  hinder your involvement

The point of the position is to make sure the first years are heard in our planning, and for the first year to learn about the diversity forum, and learn about how BLSA runs so that you can lead the organization next year

From Arkansas... I would like to run as your first year rep because the first year rep should be a person who will find out the first years interest and pass that along to the e-board, and I will work hard and well with the e-board

11:42 Daryl asked about her experience

• response: yes a leadership organization, featured in cosmo girl, amongst other things

11:43 – A/C from Atlanta undergrad in psychology... and I’m a nice person

Esther asked question: what can you contribute to your position

• Listen to people and take what they say into account, and be voice-stress and get things done

11:44 – Alexandra - We are going to do an e-mail vote

And after the stud org fair we will set up the Yahoo voting system

Daryl – Voting will take place Friday through Monday and then we will announce the results on Tuesday

              Chantal spoke with Professor Pechionni (new property professor)

Topic: Call to action: Why diversity is important to all aspects of life

11:53 – Suggestion from Erynn to have Prof Pechionni as an introductory person and still bring in outsiders

Garrison suggests getting alumni

11:57 Alexandra – Diversity goes beyond race so come up with ideas everyone

11:59 Mary had idea to invite other organizations and challenge them to bring a speaker each. Everything is sponsored and organized by BLSA
