The Law Library provides extensive research support for faculty members and purchases research materials upon request.
Faculty members are eligible to apply for summer research stipends, which provide both a monetary award as well as funds to support the research, including travel, books, monographs, periodicals, equipment and supplies.
Each Spring, an outstanding first or second year law student is selected for the ONU Summer Scholar Award. This student will spend the summer in close collaboration with a member of the law faculty on a substantial research project. The student will be chosen for his/her research and writing skills from among the top quarter of each of the two classes. This is a very attractive package for a talented student and has drawn exceptionally well-qualified applicants the past several years. Faculty members are encouraged to undertake a new project or expand the scale of a current project.
Full-time faculty members are provided annual stipend for professional development and can be used for travel, housing and meals, and meeting fees (pursuant to Section 2.21 of Faculty Handbook)
