Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Vaubel was an instructor and claims officer with the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He has authored several articles on the subject of municipal home rule provisions. His book, Municipal Home Rule in Ohio, received an Award of Merit from the Ohio Municipal Attorneys' Association.
Professor Vaubel was named Professor Emeritus in 2001.
