The College of Law was founded in 1885, making it among the oldest law schools in the country. Part of the Ohio Northern University community, the Claude W. Pettit College of Law, is located in Ada, Ohio. The small town atmosphere is ideal for study and development and complements the small class size and personal relationships with faculty and staff. Only a short drive from Columbus and Cleveland, students can easily get away from campus for a weekend study break.

As ONU law students progress through their legal education, they’ll experience stimulating discussion and debates during class and participate in one of the college’s student organizations. Faculty and administrators also work along side students to identify competitive, rewarding internships, clinical work and clerkships before graduation. ONU students have traveled across the country competing for some of the most distinguished positions available.

Upon graduating, ONU law students can expect to find rewarding jobs in the practice of law. For the past five years, the college’s placement rate for graduates nine months after graduation has averaged more than 95 percent.
