April 30, 2008 Dear New Student, We are anxiously awaiting your arrival at Ohio Northern University College of Law. The Fall Orientation Program will provide you with valuable information pertinent to your academic as well as personal needs as a law student. The two-day mandatory orientation takes place Thursday, August 21, 2008 and Friday, August 22, 2008. You will find an orientation schedule enclosed. We’re starting early – Check-in and a continental breakfast begin at 8:15 am. Appropriate dress is semi-casual. Your Legal Research & Writing professors have been preparing materials for you to peruse prior to your arrival. It is expected that you will experience confusion when first reading the cases: Taylor vs. Bd. of Review and State vs. McGee. The goal is for you to reach some level of familiarity with the material so that you will be more informed for orientation and class discussions. Please read carefully all materials enclosed. Pay special attention to the class schedule (orange copy), the booklist (green copy) and the transcript notice (rocket red copy). Two official copies of your final transcript are needed as soon as possible. If you have already requested these from your alma mater, please disregard this notice. Also, enclosed is the College of Law policy of Examination Accommodations. If you intend to seek accommodations please review this policy. The forms referred to therein are located on www.law.onu.edu under Academics in Disability Accommodations Policy. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 1-877-452-9668. Take care and look forward to a wonderful opportunity – you will find law school to be a very challenging and enjoyable experience.
Sincerely yours, |
