Bar Courses. Check with the office of bar admissions in the state in which you plan to take the
Bar Exam. Take a course in every area of law tested on the bar in your state. The
Bar-Bri Digest lists all courses for all states. It is better to have familiarity with the
subject matter rather than trying to learn new material during bar review.
Recommended Courses for the second and third years of law school: Fall:
Criminal Procedure* (Tested on every bar - both essay and multi-state)
Domestic Relations (Only offered in the Fall)(Tested on many bars)
Estates, Wills & Trusts* (Tested on every bar)
Legal Profession* (Required)
Administrative Law (Basic course for practice on the local, state and federal levels)
*(also offered in the Spring)
Spring:
Real Estate Finance & Mortgage Law (Covers mortgages tested in the Property portion of the Multi-State)
Commercial Law: Payments (Tested on almost every bar exam)
Commercial Law: Sales & Secured Transactions (Tested on almost every bar)
Products Liability (Tested in the Torts portion of the Multi-State)
Remedies (Good review and bar prep)
Transition to Ohio Practice (For Ohio bar students, a good bar prep course)
Legal Profession (Required) (Also offered in the Fall)
Seminar Requirement: All students must complete an upper division seminar with a grade of
"C" or better before graduation. Seminars are limited to 12 students.
Skills Requirement: All students must complete at least 10 hours of designated "skills"
classes before graduation. In the course listings herein skills courses are identified. All clinic
courses are skills courses.
Adding and Dropping Classes: You may add classes during the first two weeks of the
semester. You may drop classes during the first three weeks of the semester. Please see the
semester calendar for other important dates.
Registration for Moot Court: Only students who have been selected to represent the College
of Law on an interscholastic Moot Court Team that prepares a brief may register for this course.
