Dean 1984 - 1987

Gaynor VanLandingham served as Dean in the Ohio Northern University College of Law from 1984-87.

VanLandingham received her B.A. from Longwood College in 1962, her J.D. from T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1970, and her LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1981.

VanLandingham began her career in 1971 in private legal practice in Virginia until 1975. She then became a Trust Officer for the Virginia National Bank. A year later she served as an Affirmation Action Officer at the University of South Dakota until 1976.

She began her teaching career at the University of South Dakota Law School as a law professor from 1976-79. While finishing her LL.M. at Georgetown, she accepted a position as a General Legal Counsel in Virginia during 1981. Following this, she became an Associate Professor of Law at Drake University Law School from 1981-84. In 1984, VanLandingham joined the faculty at Ohio Northern as Dean until 1987.

Her teaching interests were in partnership taxation and estate planning.

VanLandingham was the author of numerous articles throughout her career. She was a member of the Virginia State Bar Association, Norfolk, Portsmouth Bar Association, Virginia Beach Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She served as the Director of the Tri-City United Fund in Virginia from 1974-76. She also served as advisor for the Tax Committee for the Iowa Bar Association.
